Chili is not so much food as a state of mind. Addictions to it are formed early in life and the victims never recover. On blue days in October, I get this passionate yearning for a bowl of chili, and I nearly lose my mind.

MEET OUR CHILI TEAMS
The Chili Pros
The Chili Pros is a family operation. The idea of this came to me many years ago. I took the love of my hobby and combined it with the love of my family and we made it work. -Rick Sloss
The Chili Bean
The Chili Bean Team began with the question, "Do Beans Belong in Chili?" My husband (The Chili Pros) is from Texas, where beans are not in chili. So I entered with his recipe and added beans and WON! Hence, came The Chili Bean Team! -Missy Sloss
Pappa Dew
My love for cooking chili started years ago. Friends would gather together each year for a chili cook-off. I tried and won. So one cook-off led to others, which brought us to where we are now. My wife, myself, and a few family members always have a great time. We have met some amazing friends, who are now considered family, on this chili journey. I am hoping to meet more as we move along. God Bless the chili lovers!
Bad Apple Chili
My name is Tom Panciello and I have been cooking Chili since 2018 when I entered my 1st Chili cookoff. 2 days later I started selling it to a restaurant in Daytona Beach for the next 5 years! I've won ICS awards in the Southeast and have competed at the ICS World Chili Championship for the last 4 years. I have won multiple cookoffs for People's Choice as well as judges picks. Excited to be a part of the Georgia Cooks!

Outlaw Heifers
We are a hiking group known as the Hiking Heifers because we equally love hiking and eating! In 2020, the dad of a certain Heifer encouraged us to compete in the Floyd Parks and Rec Chili Cook-off, so the OG Heifers decided to give chili cooking a shot. In true Heifer fashion, we became the “Outlaw Heifers,” setting up decorations and a cooking style that we love! For going on four years, we have meshed recipes, creating a crowd-favorite chili each year. Our decorations also draw a crowd in Rome. We love cooking our chili over an open fire in cast iron pots. We also enjoy doing that cooking surrounded by décor that makes for a fun photo op for visitors! Our chili and our booth always draw a crowd! Over the last few years, we have come to consider some of the other teams more than just competitors. We have been blessed to make them lifelong friends! Being able to fellowship with these people as we work hard on our booth and chili brings joy to our team!
